We are fully committed to your privacy, and data security is our utmost priority; our app is built on state-of-the-art technology to ensure you are in control of your information.

About this Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice provides information on how MyKeyInfo gathers, uses, stores, and shares personal data. Personal data is defined as any information about a person who can be directly or indirectly identified by it. It therefore includes codified and online identifiers as well as more obvious items such as your name and contact details.

Insofar as we determine the purposes and means of data processing (the how and why), MyKeyInfo is the controller of that information. The type of personal information we collect

Dependent on what you, as a user, upload or enter into our service, we currently collect and process some, or all of the following information:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your contact details, address, and mobile phone number
  • Your photograph and identification documents
  • Sources of personal data relating to your vehicle ownership, such as your car registration
  • Personal information relating to your insurance documents
  • Online identifiers

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you, through one of the following actions:

  • When you request to be contacted for early access to our application from our website
  • When you sign up for a MyKeyInfo account
  • When you respond to a user survey relating to the platform
  • When you enter personal data manually into our application
  • When you upload your documents onto our platform, which include personal data

We may also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • When a user has elected to have an account set up

We also use the data you provide to enrich and improve our services as follows:

  • Through the DVLA API, which is legitimately used to check vehicle-, MoT-, and Road-tax data in combination with the data you provide

We do not share your data with second, or third parties. Should we decide in the future to develop data sharing mechanisms, no data will be shared with second or third parties without your explicit consent.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

  • Your consent. You can remove your consent at any time by contacting ([email protected]). You can also do this inside the application through comprehensive user data control features, which can erase all your data, and/or your whole account.
  • We have a contractual obligation.
  • We have a legitimate interest.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely processed on our platform, hosted on Microsoft Azure secure infrastructure within the United Kingdom.

We only store your data for as long as is necessary for the purposes of processing that are set out in this policy and according to our retention schedules, after which it is deleted according to our data management processes. We have taken appropriate safeguards to require that the personal information we process will remain protected in accordance with this Privacy Notice; we do not transfer data internationally.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. This can also be done through the in-app user data control features.
  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. This can also be done through the in-app user data control features.
  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
  • You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
